Birmingham: Mr Shehryar Khan Afridi Minister for Narcotics Control Government of Pakistan has visited the Pakistan Consulate Birmingham and met with the Consul General of Pakistan Birmingham Mr Ahmar Ismail along with Councillor Waseem Zaffar, Abid Zaman Khattak and others.

They shared their views with local electronic and print media and stated that we cannot ignore the plight of Kashmiri brothers and sisters in this difficult situation. He said Atomic war is not a good option for India and Pakistan but India’s Government is not understanding the impact of their actions. If the worst happens by the mistake of any country the whole world will undoubtedly be affected. Peace is important for both countries. He said the Pakistani Government is soon to announce closure of air space between both countries. Pakistan does not wish to compromise the life and liberty of Kashmiri brothers and sisters. Kashmir is suffering a major human rights crisis at this moment in time and Pakistan will continue to support the Kashmiris morally, politically and diplomatically. Councillor Waseem Zaffar said India is violating the basic human rights charter of UNHRC Universal Declaration of human rights Article 19 whereby everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression. This right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers. 25 days has gone by yet India is in a state of lockdown. The whole of Jammu and Kashmir is suffering open violations according to the United Nations and the basic human rights of the Kashmiris are being violated. The international community should intervene and stop India from committing genocide of the Kashmiri Nations. We should not tolerate human rights abuses and violations in any shape.
