National Front thanks UN chief

Jammu Kashmir National Front has thanked the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres for supporting Human Rights. High Commissioner Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein’s calls for an international investigation into human rights violations in Kashmir. Terming the statement of Antonio Guterres as encouraging, Jammu & Kashmir National Fronts Deputy Chairman, Altaf Hussain Wani stated in a statement that this has come as a ray of hope at a time when a fresh killing spree has been started by Indian forces in Kashmir. Altaf Wani has appealed to the UN Chief to impress upon India to implement the Security Council resolutions in Kashmir so that not only the long pending Kashmir dispute is resolved according to the wishes of the people living in the disputed region but also the dream of a peaceful, stable and secure South Asia is achieved. Jammu & Kashmir National Front Deputy Chairman also stated that the Kashmiri people are facing every form of oppression at the hands of the men in uniform and ordinary, normal, common citizens are being targeted on one pretext or another. Any resident that dares to challenge and raises his voice against the Indian oppression is being silenced by the authorities. The irony is that all this is being committed by a country which deceives the whole world by claiming to be the largest democracy. However fact of the matter is quite contrary and India is not only crushing democratic movement of Kashmiri people by using undemocratic means but also indulging in killings, arrests, disappearances etc to silence Kashmiri nation. Altaf Hussain Wani thanked the UN firstly for issuing a report about Kashmir depicting facts and then issuing a strong statement which has to a large extent exposed India before the international community and the real cruel face of New Delhi has become clear to all.
