International Women and youth conference was held at the House of Commons, in London

London: International Women and youth conference was held at the House of Commons, in London. This was organised by the Jammu Kashmir Self Determination Movement International UK. Chief guest was President of Azad Kashmir Sardar Masood Khan and Pakistan High Commissioner London, Mr Mohammed Nafees Zakria. It was presided by Raja Najabat Hussian Chairman of JKSDMI. Amongst the British parliamentarians who attended was the Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons, Dame Rosie Winterton MP, Debbie Abrahams MP Chairperson of All Parties Kashmir Parliamentary Group in the British Parliament, Lord Qurban Hussain, Secretary of All Parties Kashmir Parliamentary Group in the British Parliament, James Daly MP Treasure of the All Parties Kashmir Parliamentary Group in the British Parliament, Shadow Foreign Minister for South Asia Afzal Khan MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Northern Ireland Tony Lloyd MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Media and Culture Tracy Brabin MP, Shadow Justice Minister Barrister Yasmin Qureshi MP, Lillian Greenwood MP, Mohammed Yaseen MP, Rachel Hopkins MP, Claudia Webb MP, Zeeshan Arif Chairman of Youth wing of JKSDMI, Sabeeha Shehzad, Kabeer Sabir, Shahida Jarral, Cllr Khalid Hussain Bury and others. They expressed their views and stated that Kashmiri women are main victims of the human rights violations in Indian occupied kashmir. Humanitarian crises always have a gender angle, particularly those involving armed conflict adding that trends analysis by the United Nations in 2018 shows that sexual violence is factored into the broader strategy of conflict, with women and girls being disproportionately affected and it has been no different in Kashmir’s disturbed history. It was well attended by the local Community, Youths and female activists from all over the the UK. Special resolutions were presented by Mrs Asia Hussain and passed. President of Azad Kashmir Sardar Masood Khan presented a special sheild to JKSDMI Women’s team for their continued work on the Kashmir issue, along with the Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons London. Chairman JKSDMI also mentioned the resolution passed in the Pakistans parliament and Debbie Abrahams MP Chairperson of All Parties Kashmir Parliamentary Group in the British Parliament promised to start an Early Day Motion on the Kashmir Solidarity Day for the people of Jammu and Kashmir State. Chairman JKSDMI Raja Najabat Hussain announced the future activities of JKSDMI in UK and Europe, as well as those in Pakistan and Azad Kashmir for next two months. Also present were Alvina Khan, Dr Qureshi, Dr Saboor Javed, Saadia Hamid, Professor Shahid Iqbal, Shahla Gull and others.
