London: Human Rights and Media Kashmir Conference was held at the House of Commons Portcullis House. It was organised by Fahim Kiyani President Tehreek e Kashmir UK and facilitated by MP Afzal Khan Shadow Minister of the United Kingdom. The keynote speakers were Prime Minister Azad Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider Khan, Barrister Iftikhar Gillani Education Minister Azad Kashmir, Altaf Ahmed Bhatt Editor in Chief, Daily Kashmir Post, Muzaffarabad & Daily Capital Post Islamabad, Aslam Meer Bureau Chief, Dunya News Network & Daily Dunya, Muzzafarabad , AJK, Tariq Naqash President Capital Journalists Forum and Senior Correspondent Daily DAWN Muzaffarabad, AJK, Adil Shahzeb Presenter Hum news , EX Presenter BBC World News , Nayeema Ahmed Mehjoor a senior journalist & Ex-News Editor of BBC World Service , Syed Nazir Gillani, Lord Qurban Hussain,Raja Sikander Khan, Professor Shahid Iqbal, Zaffar Ahmed Qureshi and others. They expressed their views and stated that freedom of expression and speech is a fundamental right of every human being. We should raise our voice for the voiceless Kashmiri people who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of Kashmir. Tariq Naqash said there are big differences in the journalistic activities between Indian and Pakistan administered Kashmir. Journalists and media persons lives are under threat in IOK, they cannot report anything independently. Altaf Ahmed Bhatt said human rights violations are not acceptable in Indian held Kashmir. Aslam Meer said, that in Indian Occupied Kashmir nobody can report properly and independently, journalists are forced to publish stories on topics other than human rights violation of Kashmir. The internet is banned, media is banned, social media is banned and the Kashmiri people are struggling with the initial and fundamental rights of the Kashmiri Nation. He said many testimonials are being given by the Indian Occupied Kashmir on a daily basis. Syed Nazir Gillani said Kashmir should prioritise the roadmap on Kashmir following UN regulations, ensuring dignity, security and self-determination. Raja Farooq Haider Khan said all the Kashmiris welcome two effective reports on Kashmir, one from the UNHR and the second from the AAPG Group on Kashmir in the British parliament. Lord Qurban Hussain said UNHRC have submitted a recent report on human rights violations against Kashmir by India yet at the same time India was granted membership of the Human Rights Council, this is not a fair deal. Raja Fahim Kiyani delivered Kashmir declaration in London on British Kashmiri diaspora. Other participants from overseas deliberated on the highly militarized situation in the Indian Occupied Kashmir. MP Afzal Khan presented a shield to Prime Minister Azad Kashmir for recognition of their positive efforts on Kashmir issue.
