Mr Pervez Khattak, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa visited the Pakistan High Commission London today and interacted with the officers. He was received buy H.E. Syed Ibne Abbas, Pakistan High Commissioner to the UK.

The Chief Minister is on an official visit to the UK where he is holding meetings with various UK departments and Parliamentarians. The focus of the visit is sharing knowledge and expertise on police reforms in Khyber
Pakhtunkhwa. In this regard, he signed various MoUs with the UK police.

Mr Khattak informed the officers about legislations carried out in the provincial assembly and improved law and order situation. He also gave an overview of the institutional reforms in police, health, education and incentives in industrial policy. The Chief Minister informed that the security situation in the province has significantly improved but the world needs to be informed about it. Due to the improved law and order situation and better border
management, the economic activity is picking up in the province. He said that due to institutional reforms the public service delivery in health, education and police has improved.

The Chief Minister said that under the new industrial policy, the KP government has announced several incentives for the local and foreign investors who can benefit from the attractive industrial regime. He particularly emphasized on investment potential in tourism and mineral sectors. The Chief Minister said that now industry can be set up in the province through one window operation and no NOC is required as the procedure has been made simple and transparent.

The High Commissioner updated the Chief Minister on Pakistan, UK bilateral relations. He hoped that DFID assistance would bring positive socio-economic development in the KP. The High Commissioner shared with Mr Khattak the details of programmes for the 70th Anniversary of Pakistan. He suggested that the KP government select one event and hold it in the UK. The Chief Minister agreed to the proposal. The High Commissioner also assured the Chief Minister that the High Commission is always ready to provide its services for better coordination between KP and the UK.
