The Kashmiri women’s Movement UK and Europe held an conference

Birmingham: The Kashmiri women’s Movement UK and Europe held an International Women’s Conference based on ‘Violence against women in Conflict areas with special reference to Kashmir’. It was hosted by Saima Haroon Secretary General KWM UK & Europe and the chief guest was Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Human Rights Dr Shireen Mazari. The event also included a range of other guest speakers from diverse backgrounds including Mrs Shamim Shawl, MEP Wajid Khan, MP Shabana Mahmood, MEP Julie Ward Chair APGK EU, Barrister Margaret Owen OBE, Barrister Abdul Majid Tramboo, Professor Nazir Ahmed Shawl, Ms Soraya Boyd, Ms Zehra Zaidi Social Activist and others. The audience consisted of educators, social and political activists amongst others. Also were present Former lord mayor of Birmingham Councillor Mahmood Hussain, Councillor Nagina Kauser, Gazalah Ahmed, Mrs Rani Arif, Zainab Khan, Rubina Khan, Sajid Yousaf, Zahid Khattak, Nasir Mehmood, Shagofta Akhtar, and others.
