KDF has organised a Vaccine Literacy and community engagement event in Blackburn

Blackburn: Kashmir Development Foundation in collaboration with the NHS is encouraging people to book their COVID-19 vaccinations as soon as possible before 30 June 2023. After that the vaccine will only be available for people who are at high risk of severe COVID-19, and for most people they will generally only be available seasonally.

KDF has organised a Vaccine Literacy and community engagement event in Blackburn outside the Kashmir Supermarket. Sardar Aftab Khan, Executive Director, KDF provided essential information about COVID-19 and other Vaccines and how they work to the members of British Kashmiri, South Asian and other members of the communities. Getting vaccinated can help to stop the spread of an infection. If you have a young child and don’t know if they are up to date with their routine vaccinations, you can check their Personal Health Record (which is also known as the red book). If they have missed a vaccination, contact their GP practice to book an appointment or call 111 and visit nhs.uk to book your vaccination appointment.

KDF volunteers distributed over 300 information leaflets and signposted them to more information and help available from the NHS. On this occasion, Sardar Aftab Khan, Sumira Farrukh Chairperson BTM Global, Youth Activist Aryana, Saidzada Noor Hussain, Ayaz Khan and others were also present there.
