International Conference on Allama Iqbal to be held at the High Commission

An International Conference on great philosopher, poet Allama Muhammad Iqbal will be held at the Pakistan High Commission London on 07 July 2018. It would be a tribute to the National Poet of Pakistan in the year of his 80th death anniversary.

The full-day event is being jointly organized by the High Commission and Urdu Markaz London.

H.E. Syed Ibne Abbas, the High Commissioner will preside over the Conference.

The Conference would feature academic visionaries and luminaries from Pakistan, USA, Canada, India and Europe. Those expected to attend and deliver lectures would be as follows: Iftikhar Arif (Islamabad), Dr Taqi Abedi (Ontario, Canada), Dr Abdur Rehman (USA), Advocate Khalil ur Rehman (Delhi, India), Professor Ekramuddin (JNU, Delhi), Dr Kamran (Oriental College, Panjab University, Lahore), Mrs Saima Kamran (Panjab University, Lahore), Mr Shohab Inayat Malik (Jammu University, India), Professor Iftikhar Malik (University of Bath, UK), Professor Raza Ali Abidi (London), Dr Fatema Hassan (Karachi, Pakistan), Dr Javaid Sheikh (London) and Mr Faizan Arif (London)

The Conference has been divided into two sessions. In the afternoon, a Mushaira will also be held. The participating poets will be from amongst the esteemed delegates and also selected local poets.
