Independence Day Celebration of India was organised by the FIMO UK

Birmingham: Independence Day Celebration of India was organized by the Federation of Indian Muslim Organization UK (FIMOUK). It was hosted by Hamid Malik. They celebrated the 71st Independence Day of India with diverse communities like Indian’s, Pakistanis and others. They gave a message of love, peace and harmony by sharing their independence with others. There were many special guests present including the Mayor of West Midlands Andy Street, MP Shabana Mahmood, Lord Lieutenant of West Midlands John Crabtree OBE ,Councillor Yvonne Mosquito Lord Mayor of Birmingham, Mayor of Telford Councillor Raj Mehta, Former Lord Mayor of Birmingham Councillor Mahmood Hussain, Councillor Muhammad Afzal, Councillor Nagina Kauser, Chief Constable of Police Dave Thompson, Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh Birmingham Mohammed Zulqarnain, Former Lord Lieutenant of West Midlands Paul Sabapathy, Canon Dr Andrew Smith, Director of Interfaith Relations for the Bishop of Birmingham, Councillor Ramesh Shrivasteva, Consul of Consulate of India Birmingham Miss Happy, Davinder Prasad General Secretary BOPA, Mrs Swaran Talwar, Krishan Talwar, S M Ghulam Sarwar, Harmohinder Singh Bhatia Upashak, Dr Krushan Kumar, Jaffer A Kapasi OBE FFA, Hajji Z Ahmed Kazi, Prof Asif Ahmed Phd FRSB, Saqib Bhatti, Mohammed Hamza, Amit and many others.Speakers of the event also appreciated the achievements of the Indian community within Britain in Education, Sports, health, army, police and other departments.Report by S M Irfan Tahir Photojournalist / Member National Union of Journalists (NUJ) Great Britain.
